Myrie-Williams joins Bristol City strikers looking to impress against Plymouth

Tuesday, November 18, 2008, 09:41

Gary Johnson's six-strong strike force has increased to seven with the return from loan of Jennison Myrie Williams - and more than half of them will feature against Plymouth Argyle on Tuesday night for Bristol City reserves at Ashton Gate.

Bristol City captain Louis Carey lines up alongside a number of other first-team players in the totesport.com Combination Cup fixture. Steve Brooker, Nicky Maynard and John Akinde are all in the squad and Ivan Sproule and Cole Skuse star in midfield.

Stephen Henderson keeps goal as Chris Weale recovers from an ankle injury, while James Wilson, back from his Brentford loan, will partner Carey in central defence.

The 20-year-old forward Myrie-Williams has returned from his second loan spell at Carlisle United this season. He made three starts and seven appearances from the bench but failed to find the net. Following manager John Ward's departure, stand-in boss Greg Abbott has opted not to discuss an extension to the loan.

Myrie-Williams rejoins manager Johnson's attacking selection of Dele Adebola, Lee Trundle, Maynard, Brooker, Akinde and loan signing Stern John.

Entry is free for season ticket holders and members otherwise tickets are £3 (adults) and £1 (Under-16s).

Bristol City Reserves: Henderson; Walker, J.Wilson, Carey, Artus; Sproule, Skuse, Plummer; Akinde, Maynard, Brooker. Subs: Bradley, Myrie-Williams, Jackson, Edwards, Stambolziev.

Have your say

Midfielder Michael McIndoe has been relieved of penalty duties after missing two in a row. Does he need a break or should he keep taking them? How many misses would you tolerate?
